The head of the Military Medical Academy resigned due to infection of cadets – Army and MIC

MOSCOW, April 23. / TASS /. Head of the Military Medical Academy. CM. Kirova Alexander Fisun was relieved of his post after infection of cadets with coronavirus. This was reported on Thursday to journalists in the Ministry of Defense.

As noted in the department, Fisun “wrote a letter of resignation at his own request.”

According to the Ministry of Defense, despite all the measures, the academy “made miscalculations in the organization of barrier and preventive measures at the faculty of training doctors for foreign armies, which led to infection of some cadets.” “Given this fact, according to the inspection of the commission of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the head of the academy, Alexander Y. Fisun, was relieved of his post,” the department said.

At the same time, the ministry emphasized that the Academy, with the onset of a pandemic for two months, took measures almost round-the-clock to prevent the illness of military personnel and employees of the educational institution. “On the basis of the academy, a specialized infectious center was deployed to provide assistance to military personnel and civilians in full. Special departments and laboratories for conducting observational events were prepared,” the Ministry of Defense noted.

In addition, a stock of medicines and prophylactic drugs was created there, including antiviral drugs, special means of transporting infectious patients, disinfectants and equipment.

Earlier, the ministry said that infection with coronavirus infection was recorded in cadets of a foreign faculty, without specifying the exact number of infected people, as well as in 55 cadets of other faculties of the educational institution.
