Mexican actor Enrique Rocha Ruiz died this Sunday at the age of 81, as confirmed by sources close to the family. With almost six decades of career in theater, film, advertising and television, his corpulent presence and his deep voice placed him among the most popular interpreters as a villain of the telenovelas broadcast with great success throughout Latin America by the network and production company. Born in Silao, Guanajuato, in 1940, he moved to the capital as a young man to study architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). As his career progressed, Rocha specialized in antagonist roles in different melodramas. Over 10 titles attest to its popular villain characters: True loves, Wild Heart o I buy that woman, A way, The privilege of loving, The ways of love or Rebel. Rocha continued working almost until the last moment, also on television, with the telenovela I plead guilty of 2018.
Off-screen he was also a popular character in Mexican social life in the 1970s.
