The government encouraged on Friday “all health professionals” at support hospitals, while these are “faced with a strong tension due to the resumption of the epidemic” of Covid-19 “on the whole of the territory”. Their mobilization is “crucial for the care of patients with Covid-19, but also of all other patients and allow a turnover of hospital teams”, underlines the Ministry of Health in a press release.

New incentives
The government has put in place a series of incentives. Health students “can all be mobilized, taking into account the situation of students in the last year of training, as well as exam periods”. They then perceive “a exceptional internship allowance during this period, for example an increase of 100% for students in medicine, midwifery, dentistry and pharmacy “, underlines the press release.
Health reserve professionals see their increased remuneration, “for example from 125 to 200 euros per day for an active nurse”, and retired hospital and private health professionals “are not not subject to the ceiling on their cumulative retirement and earned income if they exercise this activity, medical or paramedical, in a Covid-19 service “.
As for liberal doctors, “in the event of loss of activity, their fixed costs are compensated, which allows them to strengthen the Covid-19 services, then to resume their activity “.
All are invited to register on the platform launched by the French Ministry of Health, Renfort RH Crise.
Caregivers called in for backup for more than a year
Many caregivers are already mobilized as reinforcements in hospitals or have been so during previous waves. From the start of the pandemic, faced with the critical situation in establishments in eastern France, a doctor from Rouen, among others, made the decision to go and help her colleagues in Mulhouse. Doctors, liberal nurses or the private sector went to reinforce the public, as in the Cotentin, in the Vaucluse or in the Loire. Nursing students have also mobilized, as in Mayenne.
Faced with the third wave, many establishments have new needs. Hospital tension is high in the majority of territories.
After a slight drop on Thursday, the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care began to rise again on Friday, exceeding 5,750 patients, according to daily figures from Public Health France.
