The Governing Council approves a draft decree relating to the reorganization of the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies

Rabat- The Governing Council, held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Saâd Dine El Otmani, approved Bill No. 2.20.383 relating to the reorganization of the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies (ISEM).

Submitted by the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, this draft decree, which is part of the support of the National Port Strategy, aims to modify and complete Decree No. 2.12.623 on the reorganization of ISEM through the diversification of training courses, said the Minister Delegate in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Driss Ouaouicha, in a press release read during a press briefing at the end of this advice.

The draft decree also aims to define the training courses within the Institute as well as the diplomas it issues, he added.

It also aims to set the conditions of access, the number of years of study, the educational notebooks for the normal and higher cycles, bachelor’s and master’s as well as the engineering cycle of the institute, in in addition to determining the stakeholders in the teaching of subjects related to the International Convention on Standards for the Training of Seafarers, the Granting of Certificates and Watch (STCW Convention), specified Mr. Ouaouicha.
