The Golden Knights hit hard for the opener of the NHL Western Conference semi-final against Vancouver. The Las Vegas franchise easily won 5-0.
Unhappy Stanley Cup finalists in 2017/2018 for their first NHL season, the Golden Knights made the difference in the second half by scoring three goals to lead 4-0 after two thirds. They flew over the proceedings on Sunday, scoring 39 shots on target against 26 for the Canucks.
Once again preferred to Marc-André Fleury in front of the Vegas net, Robin Lehner signed the first shutout of his career in the play-off. His vis-à-vis Jacob Markstrom was replaced in the 52nd, after conceding five goals on the 34 shots that had been sent to him.
