The goal of Teplice was to pay. The referees were wrong in the match of Pilsen, the commission decided

According to the refereeing committee of the Football Association of the Czech Republic, the judges or video referees did not proceed correctly in any of the three controversial moments in Saturday’s match of the 25th round of the first league between Pilsen and Teplice.

Video referee Jana Adámková should not have intervened in situations after which judge Marek Radina headed for the monitor on her recommendation and, after watching the recording, ordered a penalty against the guests and a while later expelled the home team’s Milan Havel.

In the second half, assistant Jan Hurych did not signal an offside at the equalizing goal of Filip Žák from Teplice. According to the commission, all three situations were borderline.

The first controversial moment occurred shortly before the break. The home team’s Jean-David Beauguel fell into the lurch after Mohamed Tijani. Radina did not order a penalty at first, but after the intervention of video judge Adamkova, he went to look at the monitor and changed the verdict. Beauguel scored the only goal in the 44th minute.

“Given that this was a borderline situation, the VAR (video referee) should not have intervened in this case. It was not an obvious error of the referee,” said the chairman of the commission Radek Příhoda in the video on the association’s website.

For the same reason, according to him, Adámková should not have intervened in the setting of the first half. After Havel’s home intervention against Robert Jukl in Teplice, Radina originally awarded the Pilsen defender only a yellow card, but after checking the situation, he expelled him from the record. Viktoria still kept the victory weakened 1: 0 and leads the league by three points.

The referees did not do well even in the third disputed situation. In the 75th minute, Teplický Žák got the ball into the net behind the goalkeeper Jindřich Staňek, but the second assistant Hurych signaled an offside. It was not clear from any shot whether this was a violation or not, so the judges left the original verdict on the field.

“This was a borderline situation where the assistant did not signal the offside. The assistants are instructed not to signal the offside in similar borderline situations. The VAR did not intervene in this case because it was not an obvious error and without using a calibrated offside line whether it was an offside, “Příhoda explained.

According to the commission, the judges proceeded correctly in the next matches of the 25th league round. According to the rules, the home team Lukáš Štetina was eliminated in the match between Liberec and Slavia after the intervention of the video referee.

In the duel between Sparta and Pardubice, the judges correctly recognized Martin Minčev’s 2-0 goal, as it was a borderline situation and it was not possible to determine whether it was an offside or not.
