The Glimps project has stopped, there are not enough people willing to help with the GIMP editor clone

Author: David Ježek

A long note has appeared on the Glimps project blog announcing it stopping the whole project. His goal was to create GIMP editor clone, which under another name will bring, for example, the new look of Glimpse NX. The goal was not achieved because the project practically did not grow.

According to the founder he is Bobby Moss, was not a problem in funding, but especially in the lack of people. There was a lack of volunteers to work on non-programming work, such as moderating forums, responding to support, running social networks, troubleshooting packages, managing servers, and so on.

Everything was taken care of by a small team without wider community support. The demands and responsibilities grew, which eventually resulted in the departure of the main driver and thus the project stopped. It is difficult for us to predict whether and when the Glimpse project will return. There are too many factors in the game and we don’t want to deceive anyone or spread any false hope, concludes Bobby Moss.
