The front line in eastern Ukraine has approached the borders of the LPR

Frontline in eastern Ukraine approaches the borders of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). A high-ranking military commander of the LPR, supported by Russia, told the TASS agency on Wednesday.

In early July Russian forces have taken control of the entire LPR – one of the two regions that make up Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region – since they entered Ukraine for the first time on February 24 with the stated aim of wresting all of Donbas from Kiev’s control.

But a lightning-fast Ukrainian counteroffensive last week pushed Russian forces back and is drawing the new front line closer to the LPR’s self-proclaimed borders, Commander Andriy Marochko said Wednesday.

We remind you that the Ukrainian forces launched a counterattack and regained control of key cities like Izyum and Kupyansk. This was stated by the president of the country, Volodymyr Zelensky the Ukrainian army has recaptured over 6,000 sq km.
