The President of National Heritage, Llanos Castellanos, today announced that Gardens of the Royal Palace of La Granja of San Ildefonso they will re-ignite their sources for the first time in 22 months, next Sunday, May 30, coinciding with the feast of San Fernando in the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso.
The Fountain season for 2021 It includes 46 days of operation from sources since this Sunday, May 30, until August 25. The public will enjoy two tours main ones that will alternate week by week and that will allow the lighting of four sources per day on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The first tour will start on June 2, with water games in the fountains of Canastillo, Ranas, Baños de Diana and La Fama, while the second will be activated the following week, with shows at the fountains of Canastillo, Ocho Calles, Ranas and La Fama.
In addition, there will be three extraordinary ignitions of the whole days May 30 (San Fernando), July 25 (Santiago) and August 25th (San Luis), which will involve the start-up of 7 sources: La Selva, Carrera de Caballos, Canastillo, Ocho Calles, Ranas, Baños de Diana and La Fama.
Finally, the Fountain Season will offer the night lighting of the Baños de Diana fountain which, with an illuminated tour, will show its sensational water show every Saturday in July and the first three Saturdays in August, from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
The Maximum capacity for visits will be 200 people, in order to guarantee the safety of all visitors and comply with social distancing. The use of the mask will be mandatory at all times and a minimum social distance of 1.5 meters must be respected, both during the operation of the sources and when moving between them, following the measures established in this regard by the Board. of Castilla y León.
The days of operation of fountains, the Access to the Gardens will be free until 3:00 p.m., at which time the venue will be evacuated to proceed with its reopening, from 15:30, with exclusive access for those who have purchased their ticket specific to the “Season of Fountains”, only through the National Heritage website, at a single price of 4 euros. After the event, free entry to the Gardens will be reestablished until its closing time.
