Guy Vattier, the former mayor of Briey, was therefore not immediately aware that the judges typed more severely than their first instance peers. At the Briey Criminal Court, in February 2020, the former city councilor was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence for sexual harassment against a municipal employee. This July 15, the Court of Appeal went further by pronouncing a one-year suspended sentence.
The Nancy judges, who had examined the case last month, also went beyond the requisitions of the attorney general, who asked for the confirmation of the sentence of first instance. Aged 82, suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Guy Vattier is also struck by a five-year ineligibility. Or the same duration as that pronounced in Briey.
