The Slavia footballers defeated Nice in the 3rd round of the basic part of the European League 3: 2 and followed up on the week-old home win 1-0 over Leverkusen.
Jan Kuchta scored twice and Abdallah Sim once. Both scored their premier goal for Slavia during their debut in the starting line-up in the European League. Amine Gouiri and Dan Ndoye set the pitch for the guests.
Slavic coach Jindřich Trpišovský significantly complicated the preparation for the match with a coronavirus, due to which Captain Bořil, Kúdela, Provod, Malinský and substitute goalkeeper Kovář were missing. He didn’t even play Stancia, whose wife gave birth to a baby girl. Trpišovský called five players from the B-team due to absences. In Group C, six points moved to first place ahead of Leverkusen due to a better balance. Bayer won the match at Beer Ševy 4: 2. Nice and Hapoel have three points each. In three weeks, the Czech champions will perform in France.
