The five highest paid F1 drivers of 2021

Lewis Hamilton remained stuck on his seven world titles in 2021 after Max Verstappen can now call himself reigning world champion. The titles remain the same, but the Mercedes driver’s salary has dropped slightly in 2021. It is estimated that Hamilton earned about 27 million euros in 2021 without sponsor money. Through deals with Tommy Hilfiger, Monster Energy, L’Oreal Paris and Hugo Boss, among others, he can add about 10 million euros to this, while he earned about 50 million euros in 2020.

There is only one driver who comes close to Hamilton’s salary and that is of course Verstappen. The Dutchman earned about 22 million euros as a fixed salary in 2021, but this does not yet include the performance bonuses. Count on a bonus of several million for all his victories – and of course the world title – that Verstappen won for Red Bull. In addition, Verstappen also receives sponsorship income and money through the Verstappen store.

With a top team you generally earn more than in midfield, but experience and world championships can quickly add up. Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel prove that, who earn more than ten million euros a year in midfield. Drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo also earn a nice living driving in F1. The differences in salary per World Cup point

Verstappen and Hamilton earn the most from the grid, but if we convert it to the World Cup points achieved, the field is quite different. Here Kimi Raikkonen could easily take first place, as with ten points the Alfa Romeo driver earned a million per point. The two title rivals of 2021 are not in the list, which is of course logical with a huge number of points.

Looking further into what a driver is worth per point, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Nicholas Latifi and Daniel Ricciardo round out the top five. all four drivers were paid more than a ton per point.
