The first Windows Insider build of the year is here

January 9, 2020 –
Innovations in the Windows 10 Insider Build 19541 include new information in Task Manager and a modified icon to show location usage.

Participants in the Windows Insider program in the Fast Ring can get the first test build of Windows 10 in 2020. Build 19541 comes with improvements in Task Manager and the notification icon for location queries.

The Task Manager now includes a column called Architecture. It shows whether the process in question is running on x86 or x64. However, the new information is not automatically displayed from the start, the column must first be shown in the usual way by right-clicking on the header and selecting the option.

When an app calls up the location of the device, a different icon appears in the taskbar for the new build than before: The point in the circle has been replaced by an arrow symbol, as is known from other platforms. However, the option to show the icon must be activated in the data protection settings.

Furthermore, the reliability of the system settings is said to have been improved and various bugs have been fixed. Bugs, on the other hand, occur with drive optimization, remote desktop connections and the snipping tool, which may not work with two monitors. And with the anti-cheat software Battleye, insider preview builds can generally lead to incompatibilities, such as “Betanews” reported,
