The government issued an administrative order to secure the first hospital beds for senior hospitals and national university hospitals as the critically ill hospital beds became scarce due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19)’third pandemic’.

On the 19th, according to the medical community and local governments, the Central Accident Recovery Headquarters (heavy copy) sent an official letter titled’Order to secure a dedicated treatment bed for severely ill patients with Corona 19′ to each local government on the 18th.

In an official letter, Jungsubon said, “As the number of corona19 confirmed nationwide increases recently, securing beds capable of treating critically ill patients is an important situation. .

Specifically, Jungsubon ordered to secure at least 1% of the number of beds licensed by medical institutions for upper-level hospitals and 1% or more of the number of beds approved by National University Hospitals, respectively, to secure them as dedicated beds to treat severely ill patients.

According to the current’Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases’, the head of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Mayor/Do Governor, or the head of a Si/Gun/Gu may mobilize facilities such as hospital beds during an infectious disease epidemic as one of the measures to prevent infectious diseases.

It is known that this is the first time since the Corona 19 incident in Korea, it has been ordered to mobilize beds to a private general hospital.

As more than 1,000 new confirmed cases poured out a day, the number of patients with severe gastric disorders rapidly increased. Earlier, civic health and medical groups have insisted on an emergency order to resolve the shortage of beds.

According to this measure, at least 1% of the beds approved by the health authorities in major general hospitals called’Big 5’as well as about 40 advanced general hospitals must be secured as dedicated beds for severely ill patients.

The heavy water copy requested each local government to inform the competent medical institution about the targets and support plans for securing a treatment bed for severely ill patients, and to prepare a plan for securing each medical institution and submit it by the afternoon of this day.
