The People’s Power National Convention held on March 8 is now about a month away. Candidate registration starts today.

[기자]
For two days from today to tomorrow, we are accepting registration of candidates for the party representative and the supreme council. In normal elections, there are many cases where a proxy registers instead, but this time, the candidates directly submitted documents, made a political opinion announcement, and even stood in line for the first registration.

[앵커]
Did you even stand in line?

[기자]
Jang Ye-chan, candidate for the Youth Supreme Council, took the first registration title by waiting from 7:30. Rep. Chul-soo Ahn and Ki-hyeon Kim also directly registered as candidates. Each of them claimed to be a Yoon Shim runner. Rep. Ahn said, “President Seok-yeol Yoon and Chul-soo Ahn are the best combination.” Rep. Kim also said, “I will do my best to become a successor to the party.”

Two lawmakers, Kim Ki-hyun and Ahn Cheol-soo, are forming a Yanggang-do, and recently, controversy over Kim Yeon-kyung’s certification shot, controversy over socks, or a war of nerves is fierce. It was a one-on-one battle of nerves between the two, but today it looks like pro-Yoon-gye lawmakers are focusing their attacks on Ahn.

In public opinion polls, Rep. Kim Ki-hyun was always ranked first, but if you look at the recently announced survey, Rep. Ahn chased after him, so the error range or reversed surveys are coming out one after another. It is an emergency for the pro-Yoon faction, which is definitely pushing Rep. Kim Ki-hyun. He launched an all-out attack.

First of all, Rep. Jang Je-won of ‘Yoon Haek-gwan’ pointed at Rep. Ahn’s side as ‘political harm’ while declaring, “I will not take any appointed position in the next leadership,” regarding his theory of secretary general.

Another Yoon Haek-gwan, Rep. Lee Cheol-gyu, also posted a post to Ahn, saying, “If you say you are Jin-Yoon, you are stealing a trademark with a fake product.” Rep. Park Soo-young, pro-Yoon, also appeared on Hyun-Jung Kim’s news show today and attacked Rep. Ahn. You will hear this part yourself.

“Nevertheless, it is actually another member of the National Assembly, Jae-Won Jang, who went into hiding for 24 hours and released it. As you know, the president, who has been in public office for a long time, is quite loud about such an act. You were disappointed.”

There was pressure from the pro-Yun group on Rep. Ahn, and according to a report that came out a while ago, it was reported that President Seok-Yeol Yoon dismissed former Rep. Young-Woo Kim, who is in charge of the election committee of Ahn Cheol-soo’s camp, from the National Integration Committee.

[기자]
I was serving as the chairman of the Ahn Cheol-soo camp’s campaign committee, Kim Young-woo, and a member of the National Integration Committee under the direct control of the president. It is said that President Yoon approved the dismissal of the committee members.

[앵커]
I feel a sense of déjà vu when the pro-Yun faction criticizes together and President Yoon harasses me in public office.

[기자]
It seems to overlap with the way President Yoon dismissed former lawmaker Na Gyeong-won from his position as vice chairman of the Low Birth Rate and Aging Society Committee and criticized the statement by turning around pro-Yun circles. Even within the party, there is a voice saying that the attack on Rep. Cheol-soo Ahn this time is ‘making a second Na Gyeong-won’.

[앵커]
That means that Rep. Chul-soo Ahn’s presence in Yanggang-gu is a burden. However, a variable appeared in this Yanggang area. Chun Ha-ram, a member of the innovation committee close to former CEO Lee Jun-seok, announced his candidacy for party representative.

Ha-ram Cheon, member of the innovation committee, has been mentioned as a member of the supreme council, but few people expected that he would raise his weight class and run as the party representative. Let’s first listen to today’s interview with Cheon Ha-ram, innovation committee member.

[국민의힘 천하람 혁신위원]
“My goal in this election, in some way, is to go beyond the Lee Jun-seok world and become a figure equal to or higher than Lee Jun-seok.

[기자]
The so-called pro-Lee entry, which is close to former CEO Lee Jun-seok, has also been confirmed. Rep. Cheon Ha-ram of the Innovation Committee as the party representative, Rep. Eun-Ah Huh and former Supreme Council member Kim Yong-tae as the Supreme Council member, and Gyeonggi-do Council member Lee Ki-in as the Supreme Youth Council official made their candidacy. At the same time, former CEO Lee Jun-seok also started to move. He hinted at a public move with the publication of the book, and began to show his presence in the national convention in earnest as he also served as the sponsoring chairman for candidates Eun-ah Huh and Yong-tae Kim.

[앵커]
The entry of Lee Jun-seok-type candidates has been confirmed, but the most important thing will be a big variable in this convention?

[기자]
First of all, there seems to be no possibility that the Yanggang District of Kim Ki-hyun and Ahn Cheol-soo will collapse. Even if former CEO Lee Jun-seok comes out in person, there is a limit in the party convention, which is conducted only by party member voting, and it is an outsider supported by former CEO Lee. It seems to have less weight compared to other runners.

However, it has a good chance of being a variable. First of all, in the short term, the possibility of adversely affecting Rep. Cheol-soo Ahn is being discussed. Right now, Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo has a mix of votes pro-Yun and votes that supported former lawmakers Na Gyeong-won and Yoo Seung-min. Among them, it seems that the negative vote for Yoon Haek-gwan was focused on Rep. Ahn, but if Lee Jun-seok faction runs, this kind of non-yun vote will fall away from Rep. Ahn and will inevitably be at a disadvantage.

At the same time, a blow to Rep. Kim Ki-hyun is expected. Although the Bi-yun vote temporarily went to Congressman Ahn, it was predicted that in the end, the Bi-yun vote could not find the focal point and would not vote. As they have a place to vote, there is a prospect that the possibility of a majority vote by Congressman Ki-Hyun Kim will decrease.

People’s Power Lee Jun-seok, former representative of the People’s Power, left the court after an interrogation on the provisional injunction to suspend the validity of the People’s Power held at the Seoul Southern District Court in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul last September and was being asked questions from reporters. If you don’t get a majority vote, you’ll go to a runoff, and if you go to the runoff, it’s really unpredictable as public opinion polls are announced that Congressman Ahn will win. Former CEO Lee Jun-seok has been encouraging people to join since last year, saying that it was a good day to join the party. It will be a gauge to check the size of this non-yun party member.

[기자]
Interpretations of this scale are really mixed within the party. Representative Lee’s side estimates that out of over 800,000 current party members, there are up to 200,000 non-Yoon faction supporters. On the other side, this scale is exaggerated, and it is predicted that voting for party members will come out conservatively because political high-ranking officials who have consistently paid party fees and traditional party members do.

In the end, it seems that the Lee Jun-seok world will be able to pass the cut-off that compresses the party representative candidates to 4 people for the first gateway. According to this result, the true nature of the non-Yoon-gye voters recruited by former CEO Lee Jun-seok is expected to be revealed.
