The fire board refused to answer questions after the crisis meeting – VG

BERGEN (VG) The fire board met the press after attending a crisis meeting on Tuesday. Several respond to the session.

It’s been one week since 12 Fire players shocked own club leaders, supporters and other members of Football Norway with a party at the Stadium with seven ladies present. Afterwards, the police started an investigation into a possible sexual assault.

On Tuesday, the club management gathered for a crisis meeting about the situation together with, among others, Nina Gundersen Sandnes in the law firm Kluge. At 17.33, board chairman Birger Grevstad (67) and general manager Vibeke Johannesen (46) met the media who had been waiting outside for several hours.

– I know you are interested in whether we have confidence in Vibeke. I can say that we stand together and work on this issue together. We are very close-knit about this. It is very important for us to restore confidence in the whole of Bergen. We ask for understanding that the club is in a demanding situation, says Grevstad.

Apart from expressing confidence in Johannesen, little news came from the top of Brann. This surprised several, including BT commentator Anders Pamer who was present outside the Stadium.

– It is very special. I do not understand the argument for not asking questions. The whole city wants answers to a number of key things in this case and wants to know what the club will do to clean up and what concrete steps are being taken to impose sanctions on the players who were involved in this, Pamer tells VG.

TV 2 expert Jesper Mathiesen also reacted on Twitter:

To Bergens Tidende writes media manager Thomas Brakstad the following about the reactions to the press conference.

– As of now, the case has not been completed. Since the media had been waiting outside the Stadium for eight to nine hours, we chose to meet them and brief briefly, rather than not say anything, says Brakstad.

– Incredibly disappointing

BT commentator Pamer responds to the briefing as a whole.

– It was a special session. Because Grevstad and Johannesen appeared as two who had been told to look like they were friends. It is a speculation, but it was remarkable. It is obvious that there has been friction in the relationship between the administration and the board. Most recently due to the processing of this case. Now he made sure to brag about her and she about him. Then it will be up to everyone to decide whether to buy that production – and whether it was right for the Sports Club in Brann in this situation, Pamer claims.

Grevstad and Johannesen would not say anything about possible sanctions against players or how they assess the case on Tuesday afternoon.

– It is difficult to answer all questions. We need time ahead to process everything that happens in a thorough way. The board meeting has ended, but we have contact with all the board members for the rest of the evening and week. The board and the administration will work closely together in this matter, says Grevstad.

Questions by Johannesen

Because questions have been asked by the Brann management. After the 3-2 victory over Sandefjord on Sunday night, chairman Grevstad would not express confidence in general manager Johannesen after the preliminary consideration of the case.

After the meeting on Tuesday, she says the following:

– We still have many big tasks ahead of us. I’m glad I have such a competent board to work with. What is important now is that we work well together for Brann. I am proud and grateful for the efforts of all the employees who in this situation dedicate all their time to Sportsklubben Brann.

Some of the reactions against her come as a result of her saying on Thursday last week that it was a case Brann had finished with.

– They have broken internal rules, they have apologized and understood the seriousness, and now it is a matter we are moving on from, Johannesen told BT on Thursday 12 August.

On Monday 16 August, she told VG the following:

– We have never put the case to death. We have been working on the case around the clock to get to the bottom of the enormous amount of information and details. We said we would discuss it internally and find out what measures we should take.

At the same time, she said that she first received screenshots of rumors of a possible sexual assault already on Tuesday night last week. That same evening, she is said to have been contacted by the father of one of the girls who was at the nachspielet.
