The field factor fades | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

Soccer after the pandemic yields eloquent results. The field factor has definitely disappeared. “The only difference between playing at home and doing it as a visitor is that foreign teams have to travel,” Malaga coach Sergio Pellicer said a few days ago.

The numbers attest that in the matches played behind closed doors, the tie is the most repeated result in the First Division, while the victories of the visiting teams prevail with surprising clarity in the Second Division.

After counting all the complete matches played until Monday, June 23, in the gold division there have been 13 local wins (37%), 14 draws (40%) and eight away victories (22.8%). Before the break, the equalized percentage was well below 30%.

The data is more surprising in the Second Division, where there have been almost twice as many foreign victories than local ones. In total, only seven teams that played in their stadiums were able to celebrate a happy result (19.4%), there were 13 draws (36.1%) and the average of visiting victories rose against all odds until registering 16, on some occasions with striking wins (45.7%).

In the First Division, the biggest win was the one inflicted by Celta on Alavés (6-0), followed by the one carried out by Atlético in the Osasuna field (0-5). In the Smartbank League, the duel with the most goals was Deportivo-Rayo Vallecano last weekend (3-3).
