Even so, drinking coffee too often seems to be bad for health. This was stated by a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, dr. Christopher Andrian, M.Gizi, SpGK, that drinking coffee is associated with bone loss. How come?

“Coffee triggers bone loss, there is a point. When coffee consumption, there are studies that make more calcium excretion than those who don’t. Meanwhile, calcium reserves in the body will decrease over time,” he said in a talk show program Healthy Living tvOne, Monday 27 December 2021.

Calcium itself is closely related to bone density, where levels must be sufficient so that bone health is maintained. There is also calcium released by the body continuously due to various factors, including due to coffee consumption.

In order for calcium reserves to be met, doctors recommend balancing it with vitamin D and calcium intake.

“Vitamin D and calcium must be increased so that they are balanced. Drinking coffee must be balanced with calcium intake, milk can also be used because there is calcium. Instead of using creamer, it is better to use milk. If you are afraid of fat, use low-fat milk,” advice.

In addition to triggering bone loss, drinking coffee with added sweeteners such as sugar and creamer, also risks the dangers of obesity or obesity. For this reason, Christopher’s doctor recommends consuming coffee within reasonable limits.
