On Saturday, William Schenberg, 24, known under the stage name Klaudy, will appear on the Melloscenen for the first time. In sub-competition three, he competes with the contribution “For you”.
When Expressen meets him before the competition, he introduces himself as William – and explains where the stage name Klaudy comes from.
– It’s not a funny story. I used to play a lot of Fortnite when I was younger. Me and my buddy said we have to start competing in it. Then you can’t be called William, because when they comment it doesn’t sound cool. So then I said Klaudy, although then it was with C, he says.

The name is thus from the beginning an allusion to clouds.
– In the beginning it was clouds, because then it was spelled cloudy with C. I wrote in English a lot before, but then when we switched to Swedish, we Swedishized the name a little, explains the artist.
The artist’s neck is adorned with a red mark – a birthmark, and nothing more.
Do you tend to find it more dramatic than that when people are curious?
– When I was younger, I did it. But then I grew up and realized that it’s really stupid and shitty, says the artist.
Love for the girlfriend: “She is the best in the world”
Klaudy has been together with his girlfriend Vera for four years and four months. They both live in Stockholm, but not together.
What does the girlfriend think about you being away so much now during Mello?
– She is the best in the world, so she supports me 100%. We talk in the evenings, text during the day. She just thinks it’s so much fun.
On Friday, the day before the big competition, she arrived in Växjö to follow and support her love.
– She will sit here on the parquet and listen, says Klaudy and nods towards the chairs in front of the stage.
