The opening of the poet Žeber’s exhibition “Reserve Poetry” will take place on September 5 at the Rainis and Aspazija House in Riga. In it, the author continues the search in the collection of poems “Šņabji / Blaknes” in the genre of graphic poetry, informed the Association of Memorial Museums.
The poet says about the upcoming exhibition: “The attached picture“ Safe gathering place ”shows four poets who have come together to listen to one reading poetry for three in a place recognized as safe. From the faces of the poets in the picture, it is difficult to judge whether poetry has addressed someone seriously, but it seems that the figure on the left is more interested in what is happening, but maybe it is just a polygraph, because a lot of time has passed since the sign was created.
Here, too, is the reason why a new sign needs to be developed, because in the current context of a pandemic, we can no longer consider the previous sign to be safe.
I think the public deserves a new sign, one that will depict two poets reading poetry in a space recognized as safe for each other. ”
