This Wednesday, May 1, the penultimate day of the Clausura 2024 tournament will be played, the date where the last places classified for the quarterfinals can be defined and the agenda highlights one of the matches that generates the most excitement among the fans, the Alianza series. vs FAS, at the Cuscatlán stadium. With the exception of the aforementioned duel, all matches will be played at 3:30 p.m.
The day will begin at the Antonio Toledo Valle stadium, in Zacatecoluca, a feathered duel, since Platense will receive Águila. The roosters come from the recent defeat that Isidro Metapán gave them and, for their part, the Migueleños from a victory against Dragon.
Simultaneously, and at the Juan Francisco Barraza stadium, in San Miguel, Dragon, who is in the fight to get one of the qualifying spots for the quarterfinals, will look for the required points, but, this time against 11 Deportivo, a team that is already classified and comes from a 0-0 draw against the Tigrillo team.
Fuerte San Francisco, a team in eleventh position, with 14 points, will face a Municipal Limeño team at the Correcaminos stadium in San Francisco Gotera, which has had one of the moderately best results, already classified and remained as leader for some dates of the standings.
Jocoro, one of the teams that was on the verge of relegation and that saved its permanence on the last day after Santa Tecla went down to the Second Division of El Salvador football, will have a strong test against Luis Ángel Firpo’s bulls, in the Ramón Flores Berrios stadium, in Santa Rosa de Lima. The team is last in the table and without chances of qualifying.
The last match of this schedule will be between Santa Tecla and Isidro Metapán, the first team will arrive with nothing to lose due to its relegation to the Second Division and the second will look for the points it needs to get among the eight classified for the second round of the championship.
One of the most anticipated matches of the date will be at 6:00 pm at the Cuscatlán stadium, this Wednesday, between the albos of Alianza and the tigrillo team of FAS. The historic series maintains an important rivalry and this match may or may not mean the classification of the Santaneco team, against one of the teams that rose to the top and has remained at the top for the last few dates.
It is worth mentioning that FAS brings a draw from the last date and a victory from matchday 19 against Fuerte San Francisco, while Alianza has the score of 3 to 1 in its favor from the previous date and the 6 to 1 that it beat against Dragon, on matchday 19. The positive streak of the capital’s team extends since the beginning of the second round of the regular phase.
