Lionel Messi appears on World Cup 2022 with the support of his three children and wife, including as Argentina beat Australia in the round of 16.
Messi’s three sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro together with Antonela watched from the stands as Argentina, led by their father, competed against Australia.
Messi admitted that his son really looked with great hope like other fans of the Tango team.
“Many emotions, obviously more joy, I know how they live it, suffer and enjoy it. Because all of Argentina feels it, this is the first World Cup for my children where they realize the meaning of the World Cup, live it and understand it” .
“They suffer, they follow it and they enjoy it as much as the rest of us,” Messi is quoted as saying Tyc Sport.
Getting support from the closest people also makes Messi very happy. Also, his child is now grown up and knows the meaning of his father’s struggle.
“It’s special to see my children there, they enjoy it and it’s nice to live like this, to be able to share every day and every moment with them what the World Cup means, our game,” said Messi.
“The whole family comes here. In previous World Cups and Copa America they have come too, but for them this is the first time they have experienced something like this, something beautiful,” he added.
Messi and Argentina need three more victories to lift the trophy which the Albiceleste side last won in 1986.
Furthermore, in the quarter-finals, Argentina will meet the Netherlands who aim to win the first world title in history.
