The Franco-Mexican association Cielito Lindo repeats its manifestation this year around the feast of the dead. And he transforms his first “Dia de los muertos” last year into a real festival, called Eternal. It takes place from Friday 28 October to Sunday 30 October, at the MJC de Fontbouillant at the weekend, and an event at Place Piquand, in collaboration with Montluçon Cœur de Ville, on Friday.

About fifteen dancers, musicians, photographers, speakers from Mexico that Rosalinda Tarantini, the president, met on the spot. “I come from there and have evolved in the art environment for a long time. There are also speakers from other parts of France and Cielito Lindo’s dozen volunteers.
The association has been preparing the event for a year, without subsidies. Admission to the festival, at MJC only, is set at 5 euros per day, but is free for children under twelve.
A moment of celebration to pay homage to the ancestors
From mid-October Cielito Lindo occupies the land, with activities in schools, the La Charité retirement home, in the shopping center. “The important thing is to show people that this day is not tied to mourning for Mexicans,” says Rosalinda Tarantini, from the Veracruz region in southeastern Mexico.
El dia de los muertos is a real moment of celebration, reminding people “that you have to live, have fun. And when life stops, when we are “over there”, we have the hope of returning to see our loved ones. It is a tribute to the ancestors ”. On this occasion, families set up altars in their homes, with the favorite dishes and objects of the deceased.
