The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (4) the latest local outbreak of Wuhan pneumonia (new coronavirus disease, COVID-19). For two consecutive days, there were fewer than 30,000 local cases in my country.The command center said there were 27,457 local cases, including 4,785 in New Taipei, 3,747 in Taichung, 3,638 in Kaohsiung, 2,787 in Taoyuan and 2,479 in Taipei, including deaths. There are 74 people, 36 males and 38 females, aged between 40 and 90, all with severe infections, 70 with a history of chronic disease, and 44 who have not received more than 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The date of diagnosis is between June 4 and November 1, today (2022), and the date of death is between June 4 and November 1.
Luo Yijun, deputy head of the command center’s medical response team, said one of the cases was an unvaccinated woman in her 40s who had a history of chronic neurological epilepsy and was bedridden for a long time. On October 18, he confirmed the positive outcome of the rapid and assisted home screening, then died on October 23, 6 days after diagnosis, due to pneumonia in Wuhan and heart and lung failure.
Luo Yijun said that today there are no serious cases or deaths of children or adolescents and further explained that the current death rate for all age groups is 0.16% and the overall epidemic situation is currently decreasing.
