/ world today news/ Employees of “Heating – Sofia” at a protest in the capital. The workers expressed dissatisfaction with the management’s intentions to lay off staff and suspend their social benefits.
The municipal councilor from BSP Kaloyan Pargov made a commitment to the workers to ensure the presence of the mayor Yordanka Fandakova and the chairman of SOS Georgi Georgiev to hear their problems. The Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov is also familiar with the problem.
“I hope that he will fulfill his promise and after the Easter holidays will have a meeting with all the institutions involved in resolving the company’s issues. Not only with KEVR, but also with BEH and the Metropolitan Municipal Council,” he emphasizes.
Pargov told the protesters that they deserve decent pay with all social benefits for the work they do, because they work so that we can all have hot water and heating in the winter.
“It’s easiest when funds are tight to cut people’s wages and social benefits. However, the most important thing is to preserve the people, the specialists who are already in Bulgaria. I’m talking about the thermal energy companies that provide added value to the company. All those who work in “Heating – Sofia” are Bulgarian citizens and have the right to live normally and with dignity. Therefore, the salaries of employees working in the company must be fairly compensated for inflation, which eats away incomes and reduces the possibility of consumption,” says Pargov.
