Lille (Nord), Dijon (Côte-d´Or), Grenoble (Isère), Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) are cities a priori acquired on the left, but which left? The traditional PS-environmentalist alliance is no longer automatic. In Dijon as in Lille, the PS list came out on top. The two outgoing mayors therefore do not want to make room for the greens. François Rebsamen and Martine Aubry targeted without appointing them by the national secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens.
“Some barons say that they want to do without the environmentalists, as if there had been no first round, as if at times we had not done 20, 25% or more”, explains Julien Bayou, national secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens. If some elected socialists refuse to merge with the Greens, it is also for an arithmetic reason. The positions of each other can still evolve until the last moment. Candidates qualified for the second round have until 6 June Tuesday 2 June to submit their list to the prefecture.
