Hangar 13 Development Studio and 2K Publishing on the official website of the Mafia series have shared details on the maximum difficulty level for the upcoming Mafia: Definitive Edition.
The so-called classic mode, according to the developers, will not make the passage of the remake “Inadequate” difficult, but offers a number of elements “Reminiscent of the gameplay of the original Mafia and requiring a different approach”.
As an example, the senior systems designer of Hangar 13 Prakash Choraria brought the race from the task “Fair Play”: on Classic difficulty “Still not easy, but possible – with patience and experience”.
In classic mode, assistants and hints when driving are disabled (the mini-map remains), cars are much less durable, and police officers are more strict when assessing traffic violations.
In battles, it will also be difficult: enemies on the “classic” are more aggressive, stronger and more agile (and are not displayed on the mini-map), when reloading, all the cartridges remaining there disappear from the store, and health is not automatically restored above 20%.
You can change the difficulty level and adjust its individual components (aiming assistance, vehicle handling, police reaction) at any time, but then you will not be able to earn a trophy for completing the game in classic mode.
The release of Mafia: Definitive Edition is expected on September 25 this year on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the version for the Epic Games Store will go on sale later.
