MALANGVOICE – The spread of the Delta variant of the Corona virus affects the increase bed occupation rate (BOR) in Malang Regency. Even from the information collected, it is close to 100 percent.
“With the new variant with a high infectious nature, the spread is also fast. This is what causes the BOR to increase sharply,” said Head of the Malang District Health Office, Arbani Mukti Wibowo, Monday (12/7).
According to Arbani, the implementation of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM coincided with the outbreak of the Delta variant of the corona virus. This is a challenge for the Malang District Health Office in handling Covid-19 cases.
“That is a challenge for us. Because the movement is still volatile,” he explained.
Prior to this Emergency PPKM, continued Arbani, the Malang Regency Government (Pemkab) had implemented micro PPKM. The results showed effectiveness in stabilizing the bed occupation rate (BOR).
“Actually, yesterday it was stagnant, yes (Covid-19 cases). Micro PPKM has an effect on BOR. So at that time 40 to 50 percent, stagnant. For ordinary isolation 19 percent to 22 percent,” he explained.
For this reason, added Arbani, to suppress the increasing number of BOR, the Malang District Health Office is trying to accelerate vaccination.
“Currently, we are still waiting for clarity on the submission of the Covid-19 vaccine to accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination in Malang Regency,” he said.
