Positive cases of COVID-19 in Bantul increased by 666 to 44,757 people

Bantul (ANTARA) – Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, increased by 666 cases in a day, bringing the total cases as of Wednesday to 44,757 people.

The Bantul COVID-19 Task Force in an official statement on Wednesday said that the additional new cases came from Kasihan District, 121 people, Sewon 113 people, Bantul 96 people, Banguntapan 66 people, Jetis 48 people, Pandak 45 people, and Pleret 34 people, and Pajangan 29 people.

Then from Imogiri 27 people, then Bambanglipuro 19 people, Sanden 17 people, Kretek 15 people, Srandakan 14 people, and Sedayu 10 people, the rest from Dlingo five people, Piyungan four people, and Pundong three people.

However, in the same period there were 479 patients who were declared recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total recovery rate in Bantul to 29,535 people.

While the confirmed cases of COVID-19 who died today were 26 people, bringing the total number of deaths in Bantul to 1,074 people.

With the development of daily cases, the number of active COVID-19 cases or patients from Bantul who are still undergoing quarantine or isolation in shelters or independently as of Wednesday (4/8) is 14,148 people.

Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih said, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, it is hoped that positive confirmation residents who are self-isolating at home but are prone to transmitting the corona virus to move to district or village shelters.

“We hope that isomans (self-isolation) who are susceptible to spreading the virus to their family members, we ask for awareness to move to isolation shelters, we have provincial shelters, district shelters and village shelters,” he said.

The Regent also invited the community to jointly break the chain of spread of COVID-19 by implementing clean and healthy living behaviors, and 5M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
