the death toll in France stands at 28,940 dead, the epidemic ebb continues

While this Tuesday marks the start of the second phase of deconfinement, the latest death toll in France stands at 28,940 dead, including 18,590 people in hospitals and 10,350 in social and medico-social establishments. The Directorate General of Health specifies that since the start of the epidemic, 101,932 people have been hospitalized, including 17,993 in intensive care. 68,812 people returned home.

This latest assessment reports 107 deaths in 24 hours, including 23 in nursing homes, and 84 new hospitalizations. The balance in Ehpad was updated after several days with no data available. But several indicators show that the epidemic ebb continues. The number of intensive care patients continues to drop: -49 in 24 hours. The number of hospitalized patients is also declining. Furthermore, resuscitation and new hospital admissions remain at low levels.

Four regions (Ile de France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hautsde-France) account for 74% of patients hospitalized in intensive care.
