Prof. Zullies said that analgesics should not be consumed routinely. The side effects that can occur lead to liver damage (hepatotoxic) and kidneys. The dose used must also be considered.

“Headache medicine or analgesics should only be used if necessary, except for chronic pain. This must be done in the smallest dose that can still overcome the pain,” he said.

Prof. Zullies said that the cause of sleep problems must first be ascertained. When someone really can’t sleep, the doctor will prescribe certain medications to consume. According to him, the best thing is to implement a good sleep pattern.

“Maybe you don’t actually need medication, you just have to adopt a good sleep pattern,” he concluded.
