The Czech youth rules the World Cup! Švancer won Big Air, the successor to Samková snowboarding

The Czech team is writing history in golden letters at the Junior World Championships in acrobatic skiing and snowboarding in Krasnoyarsk. Sixteen-year-old supertalent Matěj Švancer also dominated Tuesday’s final of the Big Air discipline after the downhill style, and eighteen-year-old Sára Strnadová, who won snowboardcross, also finished for her life success.

Two years ago, Švancer finished just below the podium in Big Air, this time climbing straight to the top. Three days before his 17th birthday, he dominated the finals by almost seven points ahead of Austrian Daniel Bacher.

The best jump was performed by the Czech supertalent in the final third round and the 98.50 mark was clearly the best in the competition. In addition to the rating for the first jump, it earned Švancer another title. The success of the Czech colors was underlined by the fifth place by Štěpán Hudeček, who thus significantly improved the fourteenth place in slopestyle.

Švancer, who has lived with his family in Austria for a long time, has another successful event after last year’s victory at the Winter Youth Olympic Games. At his junior World Championships for acrobatic skiers, his triumphs ensured historic success. The current Czech maximum was the bronze of the sketchmaker Petr Takač from 2006 and the bowler Teresa Vaculíková five years later.

And Švancer’s golden collection was also expanded in Krasnoyarsk by snowboard cross-country skier Sára Strnadová. The Czech racer experienced a perfect race and won everything from qualifying to the final race. She deservedly celebrated the premiere medal from the world championship, and Eva Samková can look forward to further success in her discipline.
