Let us add that when the court deals with the interpretation of the Convention, to which other states are parties, in addition to those participating in the case, each of them has the right to intervene in the judicial process.

“In the opinion of the UK, which is a party to the Genocide Convention, it has a direct interest in the interpretation that the court may apply to the provisions of the Convention during these proceedings,” the statement said.
