The Councilor for Youth of the León City Council celebrates its 35th anniversary
The Youth Department of the León City Council, currently headed by Vera López, celebrates its 35th anniversary this July. The Consistory of León had a Youth Councilor for the first time in its history in July 1987, the position was held by Ricardo Álvarez. Months later, in November, the procedure was also launched to provide the city with the Youth Office, the first denomination of the Department of Youth.

35 years have passed in which “hundreds” of activities, courses, seminars, celebrations, concerts, among many other things, have been held.
At the same time, during this period, specific consultancies and guidance services have been created for the specific problems of youth to deal with their demands and needs.
The ‘Expojoven’, the celebration of ‘Europe Day’ or the ‘Es.pabila’ program are some of the events, among many others that are organized each year in order to “be by the side” of the young people of the city of Lion.
