the Côte-d’Or department will pay 100,000 euros in aid for the Ukrainian people

Monday, March 7, the elected representatives of the Departmental Council of Côte-d’Or voted unanimously for aid of 100,000 euros in favor of the Ukrainian people. Half of the sum will be paid to humanitarian associations, the other to a crisis fund managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The envelope will be split in two. The first half will be intended for humanitarian associations. The other will go to the External Action Fund of Territorial Communities. This is a fund managed by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, which allows local authorities to provide assistance in the humanitarian crisis.

With this first exceptional support of €100,000, we intend to respond alongside those who suffer from this terrible war.“, wrote in a tweet the president of the Departmental Council, François Sauvadet.

The community also indicates taking “its full part in the national effort to welcome refugees“. A surge of solidarity shared by the city of Dijon, which announced to France 3 Bourgogne that around sixty places could be made available to exiles.
