The Congress party has distanced itself from ally Sharad Pawar’s defence of the Adani Group against Hindenburg Research’s report, but still wants a JPC probe into the matter.

The Congress party has distanced itself from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar’s comment that the Hindenburg Research report on the Adani Group was a “targeted” attack, stating that the matter is “real and very serious.” The Congress has been among a group of opposition parties demanding a joint parliamentary committee investigation into the Adani-Hindenburg row, which caused parliament sessions to stall. While Pawar strongly backed the Adani conglomerate and criticised the narrative around Hindenburg’s report, Congress asserted its link to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the matter.
