The quest is launched. After laying off his trainer André Villas-Boas, Olympique de Marseille embarked on the search for a successor. And according to information from AS, the Marseille club would have found it! It would be Jorge Sampaoli. The Spanish technician indicates that an agreement in principle would exist between OM and the current coach of Atlético Mineiro (Brazil). The 60-year-old Argentinian would however like to finish the championship with his team, until February 26. For its part, OM would be ready to wait.
As a reminder, Jorge Sampaoli notably directed the selections of Chile and Argentina. On the bench of La Roja from 2012 to 2016, the technician allowed him to win his very first international title in 2015, by winning the Copa America in the country. Eighth finalist in the 2014 World Cup with Chile, he could not do better in 2018 with Argentina, stopped by the France team at the same stage of the competition. In club, Sevilla FC, Universidad de Chile, Santos FC and therefore Mineiro were notably trained by the former midfielder.
