Donatella Colasanti is one of the victims of the Circeo massacre, the woman who managed to save herself by pretending to be dead. The fate of her friend Rosaria Lopez was different, as she was killed by drowning in the bathtub of Andrea Ghira’s villa on the Pontine coast. The story is one of the most horrific in the crime news of the 1980s. It was September 29, 1975 and for a day and a half the two girls were tortured and raped by Angelo Izzo, Ghira and Gianni Guido. The photo of Donatella, then 17 years old, emerging from the hood of the Fiat 127 wearing only a blanket and with a swollen face, will remain in everyone’s memory. The girl will immediately testify against her tormentors. The story is back in the spotlight thanks to the Circeo TV series which aired yesterday (with the first episode) on Rai 1.
