Ukrainian investigators in the Kherson region, released by of Russia to the occupiers, they discovered a cell where children were being abused, a senior human rights defender of Ukraine announced on Wednesday, whose statement was quoted by the “Reuters” news agency.

Ukraine’s parliament’s human rights commissioner Dmytro Lyubinets said the cell holding the children was in one of four torture centers run by Russian soldiers in Kherson, a city in southern Ukraine that has been abandoned by the occupation army last month.
Lubinets, who has filed a number of allegations of torture, said conditions in the cell were worse than in prisons investigated in other areas formerly occupied by Moscow forces.
“We found 10 torture chambers in Kherson region, four in Kherson city,” he told reporters. “In one of the cells we found a separate room, a cell where children were kept (..) the occupants also called it the children’s cell.” He said the only difference between the cell and the adjacent rooms was that the occupying forces had placed thin mats on the floor.
“We documented that the children were not given water, they were only given water every other day. Food was practically not given,” Ljubinecs said. “They used psychological pressure. They said she [bērnu] their parents have abandoned them and they will not return.’
According to him, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for taking pictures of damaged Russian military equipment.
“These were children who, in the eyes of the invaders, resisted,” Ljubinets said.
He also said that since the invasion began in February, some 12,000 Ukrainian children have been brought to Russia, including 8,600 forcibly taken.
