Carol singers help during the corona pandemic
The help of the carol singers for the children in One World is also being used in the corona pandemic in the currently around 1,600 projects. In 2020, the children’s mission organization ‘Die Sternsinger’ approved a total of 37 projects specifically to cope with the corona situation with a volume of around 1.87 million euros. Because the consequences of the global health crisis are particularly devastating for girls and boys in developing countries.
The funding enables the carol-singer partners to help the children and their families effectively on site. The aim of the funded measures is to give the girls and boys affected a bit of normalcy during this difficult time. Child protection is the top priority. The aid measures include, for example, psychosocial support for families, food aid, awareness-raising work about the virus, protection against infection, and digital learning opportunities for girls and boys.
In addition to the specific Corona emergency aid, the funding priorities for many of the around 1,600 projects were adapted to the Corona situation together with the partners.
