Three kittens were taken care of by the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), here, Tuesday, April 13, 2021. The volunteers of the association saved these little four-legged beings from abandonment, after the report of a man who was walking in a wood and who heard meows.
The three kittens, whose age is estimated only a few weeks away, were abandoned with their mother and another young cat, explains the Chartres SPA, on his Facebook page.
On site, a box and a bowl were found. The animal welfare association managed to recover the three little cats, but not the mother and the other cat, “completely frightened by the situation”.
The rescued kittens were placed with a foster family
“The mobilization continues to try to recover them, which is very complicated”, indicates the SPA de Chartres.
The kittens, aged 3 to 4 weeks, were taken care of immediately because they were very hungry. A mother, in this context of abandonment and enormous stress, can no longer take care of her kittens.
Fortunately, all three animals are doing well and have been placed in a host family.
Abandonment: an “act of cruelty” punishable by justice
The Chartres SPA also denounces these acts of abandonment and calls for to the shares to denounce these actions.
Animals are now recognized as “sentient beings”. We cannot accept such cowardly attitudes.
As a reminder, abandonment is considered an “act of cruelty” by the courts. According to the Penal Code, “Committing an act of cruelty towards a domestic animal, or tamed, or held in captivity, is punished by two years of imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros”.
