The celebration of the carnivals in 2022 will depend on the evolution of the pandemic. This is how the Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Olivera, advanced it this Thursday during the press conference after the Canarian Governing Council. However, Olivera has made it clear that the decree law that brings together the health measures against Covid 19 “does not prohibit them from being held.”
Some statements that come after the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, has requested a working table with the regional Executive to evaluate the celebration of Christmas and carnivals, in addition to questioning the Canarian decree.
The vice councilor has indicated that the regional government is at the disposal of the Santa Cruz City Council or of those who are needed to analyze the situation.
Except at level 4, the decree law does not prohibit its celebration, Olivera has reiterated, who has insisted on the total availability of the Government to analyze the situation with the municipalities.
