SINJAI, KOMPAS.com – A car for the groom’s escort from Tannamawang Village, Bontoramba District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, plunged into a cliff, Saturday (15/8/2020), at around 02.00 WITA.

The incident left six passengers dead and two others survived.

According to the information gathered, an accident occurred when the car was about to deliver the bride and groom from Bontoramba to Bone Regency.

Arrive at the exact location on Jalan Poros Sinjai-Bulukumba Km 25-26, Dusun Jatie, Sinjai, the car with police number DD 1452 GJ plunged into a ravine after crossing the road divider.

“There was an accident, and we were at the location temporarily transporting the car,” said Head of Traffic Unit Sinjai AKP Rahim when contacted, Saturday.

Head of Puskesmas Samaenre Sinjai A Wahyu Adliah Dachlan said all victims were rushed to Puskesmas Samaenre.

“There are eight people who entered the IGD Puskesmas Samaenre, six died and two survived. These two are still receiving medical treatment,” said Wahyu when contacted.

One of the residents of Samaturue Village, Andi said, at the scene of the incident there were often accidents involving two or four wheels.

“The place often happens then. The road there is sloping down, the curve is very sharp plus the lighting of the place is lacking,” he said.

He asked the government to act immediately so that there were no more victims.

“The government must immediately take action. The lighting in that place is very much needed because the average accident occurs at night,” he said.
