Mallplaza, the chain of shopping centers with a presence in Chile, Peru and Colombia, announced the acquisition of the Calima Shopping Center, located on NQS avenue with calle 19, in Bogotá, an area with high potential for economic and commercial development.

According to the company, after the acquisition includes the opening of the first IKEA store in Colombia, the Swedish chain dedicated to the manufacture and retail sale of furniture, and objects for the home and decoration with contemporary design, which will open in 2023, in addition to promoting existing brands: Homecenter, the Cinépolis complex and the Éxito hypermarket, and the incorporation of new brands and services.

In this way, The company adds more than 66,000 square meters of GLA, which allows it to reach 190,000 m2 of leasable area in Colombia.

The acquisition of this shopping center is part of the company’s strategic plan that seeks to enhance its presence and positioning in Colombia.

Mallplaza will renovate the different spaces of the shopping center, simplifying the customer journey to allow you to enjoy a better experience and to be the new meeting point for locals.

The Calima shopping center, already consolidated in the city, It will be the fourth urban center in Colombia, joining Mallplaza Manizales, Mallplaza Cartagena and Mallplaza Buenavista, in Barranquilla.
