Stefanie Doll sets a new course record on the Belchen.

(stn ​​/ jun). At the 16th Belchen Mountain Race, the fourth of five races for the Black Forest Mountain Running Cup, brothers Stefanie Doll and Benedikt Doll won. Stefanie Doll (SV Kirchzarten), sixth at the 2019 European Mountain Running Championships, won the women’s competition in a superior way. Her brother Benedikt finished second behind Felix Köhler from Bad Säckingen. Benedikt Doll, biathlon sprint world champion 2017, lives in Kirchzarten and started for TV Bühlertal. From the start in Schönau to the arrival at the Belchenhaus at 1,362 meters above sea level, a distance of 11.4 kilometers had to be covered with an altitude difference of 824 meters.

Both Felix Köhler, vice duathlon world champion 2016 and European champion 2017, with 48:45 minutes, and Stefanie Doll with 56:52 minutes, set new course records. For Benedikt Doll, who also finished second in Oberried’s Tote-Mann-Berglauf behind 17-year-old Lukas Ehrle from Villingen, 50:35 minutes were clocked. Yannik Fuchs (Lauffreunde Freiburg) finished fourth behind the triathlete Magnus Men (Zell im Wiesental). Jonathan Göppert, German ski mountaineering champion last year for WSC Breisgau-Staaufen, finished seventh. In the team standings, the Markgräfler Runners Club with Daniel Steffi, Valentin Schweitzer and Andreas Berner-Werb finished second behind LT Furtwangen.

In the women’s category, Stefanie Doll won with a lead of about six minutes over the second place of Franziska Schmieder (LG Brandenkopf). Hannah Schulz (SV Kirchzarten) took fifth place. Stephanie Morath (Freiburg), Jana Kibiger (Marlgräfler Runners Club) and Leonie Ströble (AHS Freiburg) followed in seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.

42-year-old Patrick Hartmann (LT Unterkirnach) finished 14th overall and second in the M 40 age group. Walter Kuß (LT Furtwangen) was 22nd overall in the M 55 class and won the age group team rankings together to Ronny Seifert (34th) and Bernd Dilger (38th). Next Sunday, the Blue Mountain Run in Müllheim is the last race for the Black Forest Mountain Running Cup 2022.
