For the first time in years, the indicator transferred two percent, while in February it was at the level of 1.82 percent, BNR reported.
This is another increase that reflects the interest rate trend to increase.
The amount of the basic interest rate is calculated as the average arithmetic value of the values of the LEONIA Plus index for the working days of the previous calendar month.
In practice, the indicator is technical, but it clearly reflects the trend of rising interest rates. It is also important for the calculation of interest on arrears.
