The blue screen of death returns to Windows 11

What led the American software giant to change is not yet clear.

Already in the time of Windows 10, Microsoft changed the blue screen of death to green, even if only in trial versions. At that time, the company only wanted to distinguish test versions, where problems occur more often, from common ones. As a result, he will be able to easily identify individual problems and solve them.

But with the advent of Windows 11, the American software giant has already given way to its color tastes and changed the iconic BSoD. Users crashed black screen with white text instead of blue when the system crashed.

Now, however, the blue color returns to the eleven, with an update with code number 22000.346. It is currently only available to testers, as Microsoft representatives pointed out on their official blog. After the tests, however, it should also reach the regular distribution channel.

Smart codes since the days of Windows 10

Former Microsoft boss Bill Gates also knows how important BSoD is. In 1998, he showed the world the future of computers – the Windows 98 operating system. And what the hell he didn’t want, a blue screen of death appeared on the screen behind him during a carefully prepared presentation.

Until the arrival of dozens, most users did not know what caused the system crash. The screen only indicated that there was a problem with the computer and needed to be restarted. Alternatively, you could see some intricate code of letters and numbers that didn’t say much in itself.

Knowing what causes BSoD is very important, especially when the operating system crashes repeatedly. The user can find out whether the crash was caused by a Windows error, a bad graphics card driver or, for example, a faulty operating memory. There are simply countless possibilities.

That is why the so-called QR code is also part of the blue screen of death in the tens. Just point the camera of your smartphone at it and read it using the installed application. A website will then open directly in the mobile phone, which will describe the error and the reason for the fall in detail.
