Sankaran Nair (84), president of Akhil Bharat Ayyappa Seva Sangam and secretary of NSS Kunathurmed Karayogam, died at Chittoor Road, Srigiri. He is a former officer of District Cooperative Bank and President of Anjaneya Seva Samiti. CV Chandrasekaran (62), who was riding a bike, was injured in Kunathurmed district president of Hindu Ikyavedi Saradalaya. He sought treatment at the district hospital.
The accident happened at 12.30 yesterday near Parakulam on the Kalmandapam Junction – Kunnathurmedu road. Both of them were going to Kunnathurmet from Kalmandapam. The police said that Shankaran Nair, who fell on the road, fell under the car that followed him. He is also suspected to have suffered a serious head injury.
