the beautiful story of Micheline Raval and the singer Marie Ka

In November 2020, Marie Ka and her sister Mylène reunited with Micheline Raval, the director of Camping du Cœur et de l’Amitié in Melisey, after a 33-year separation. Around 1985, Micheline Raval (her stage name) ran a café in Vieux-Charmont (Doubs). Professional singer, she sings Piaf. Her daughter Emmanuelle, on sabbatical leave, takes care of three children, Mylène, François and Marie, aged two, seven and nine respectively. A year later she resumed her studies and Micheline, who has grown fond of the little ones, takes care of them and cradles them every day with her song.

Three years later, their mother comes looking for them and Micheline loses track of them. “The uprooting of these children has been very painful. Tears dried, I’ve been trying to find out where they were, for years, but in vain. Then social media arrived and I fought hard until I found all three in 2017. I spoke to Marie, but she was in reserve, with few memories, and the exchanges stopped,” says Micheline.

“There are encounters that mark a life”

Marie had become Marie Ka, songwriter. “I’ve been making music for years and without knowing why, four or five years ago, I decided to start developing my own compositions. But I had amnesia about my childhood and when I started I felt there was a duality between reason and emotion, the body didn’t follow and I didn’t understand. And in the course of my meetings I found Micheline. If she hadn’t explained my childhood to me, I wouldn’t have been able to move on. There are encounters that mark a life and this was my turning point. Things have become clearer and after years of silences and bans, today I allow myself to bring my story through my lyrics and my sensitivity, especially in this song “Ne m’en m’en pas pas”. Thanks also to Micheline Raval, an exceptional woman who allowed me to reconnect with the memories of my childhood”, explains Marie. The latter also sings: “I would like to apologize for my forgetfulness, dry your tears, soothe your heart, be a parenthesis of sweetness. »

“The reunion with his sister Mylène was a very long moment of emotion. Marie wanted me to appear in her music video released this summer and soon to be in a self-produced mini-album,” adds Micheline.
