The Banc de Sang i Teixits has made a call to donate blood before the Easter holidays in order to serve the 173 people who need it every day. Under the slogan ‘Dona sang i posa’t més content que unes pasqües’, the Bank has promoted the campaign because donations normally drop during these holidays.
Hospitals are using more blood compared to last year since surgical activity has been normalizing but interventions postponed due to the pandemic also have to be recovered. Specifically, transfusions in hospitals have increased by 10%. It is estimated that some 173 people need blood every day in Catalonia.
